If you are new to the world of shortwave radio, the R9700DX is an ideal choice for you without a serious dent in your wallet. It not only offers you crystal clear reception on all bands but also good sound quality. The design of this radio is very intuitive, you would hardly need to look at the user manual in order to make this radio up and running.

Solid and compact, the R9700DX includes just the essentials: a retractable antenna, volume control and tuning knob, and a wide back-lit face displaying the bands and frequencies. Tuning is accomplished by switching the band selector to the appropriate band, then dialing up or down. The tuning light will come on when a strong signal is detected. At night, for you convenience, you can set the back-light switch at "auto" or "constant" mode.

If you plan on traveling with a radio, the R9700DX is an ideal choice. You can either listen to IT via the built-in speaker or with the included earphones. Beyond the ability to tune into various radio bands, the PL600 also features a built-in automatic battery charger, plugs it into any wall outlet with the included AC adapter.

The newly released KA31 portable active loop antenna is just right for the traveller who wants maximum performance from his/her worldband radio. The flexible folding loop antenna is 15 inches when fully extended, but folds down with a twist to a mere 6 inches (18 cm) and neatly fits in the supplied plastic blister. A mounting clip and suction cup on the end of the loop allows easy placement in a variety of situations. The suction cup is especially useful for mounting the antenna to a window where reception will often be the best. The loop antenna is then connected to the amplified tuning RF control box powered by 2 AAA alkaline batteries (not included) via the 15 foot cable. An 18" cable comes out of the control box and this is either plugged into the radio's 1/8" antenna jack where possible or an adapter (included) is used to clip to its lowered telescopic whip antenna. For desktop radio the adapter is used to clip the leads to the radio's antenna and ground connectors.

The Tecsun PL390 is a portable worldband radio with dual speakers. This PLL synthesized receiver picks up a wide range of broadcasting including AM, FM, longwave & shortwave. To tune into a station, you can use one of the following 5 methods: Tuning knob, Direct keypad entry, memory, ATS tuning & Tecsun's own & unique ETM (Easy Tuning Mode). Different from ATS, the ETM does a more comprehensive scanning of all receivable frequencies without taking up the memory spaces, it offers you an easy access to all local stations, ideal for traveling. There are a total of 550 memories available for easy access to your favorite stations.

Combining dual 2.5-inch speakers with DSP (Digital Sound Processing), the PL-390 offers you excellent listing experience with outstanding clarity & high tone quality. The PL-390 also has an line-in jack where you can plug in your MP3 player and use the radio as a portable speaker.

The PL-390 can be powered by three AA batteries (not included) or an optional AC/DC adapter with a male mini-USB connector. With the AC/DC adapter, you can use the radio to charge the batteries (rechargeable AA batteries only) when necessary.
